During the 5th week of build season, we made a lot of progress on our robot, Byte.  Now, we are just doing everything we can to prepare for Bag & Tag on Tuesday, February 23rd. Thankfully, we are on schedule! In preparation for the Week Zero Scrimmage on February 20th, we have been working very hard on making reversible bumpers, a feature we have never attempted before. The electronics team has constructed a board out of polycarbonate for the second robot, and have begun to mount and assemble pieces onto it. Also in preparation for the Week Zero Scrimmage, the last weekend before Bag & Tag, we’ve been finishing up on roboclaw, our roboshooter, and the flap. Bag & Tag is approaching fast, it’s the night when build season ends –  we will put finishes on our robot and put it in a bag before midnight! The Greater Pittsburgh Regional competition will be from March 10-12 at CalU, so get ready!

On Saturday, February 13th, the team hosted a bake sale at the CMU Cohon University Center.  We raised about $200 to use toward our travel expenses for the Queen City Regional, March 30 – April 2.

The FTC team prepared for their final qualifying competition, “I Heart Robotics!”, in Emmaus, PA on February 14th. There, they finished 13th out of 23 teams competing.  Congratulations on a successful rookie season!
