Coming back from back to back regionals. Whew!

About a week ago, the Girls of Steel went to the Buckeye Regional in Cleveland, where we demonstrated our ability to assist well! We ranked 22! We were picked by Alliance 6, and had a final tough match on Quarterfinal match 3, but lost to Alliance 5. We had a great run, and we are really happy with how well we did. Girls of Steel received the Entrepreneurship Award and the Engineering Inspiration Award, which we are very happy about! We are going to St. Louis!

Just last weekend, Girls of Steel participated in our hometown regional, the Greater Pittsburgh Regional, in a new venue: The Convocation Center at the California University of Pennsylvania (CalU)!  Our robot performed very well; for the first time, we ranked in the Top 8! We were seed 6! We didn’t move past the Quarterfinals, but we are still very proud of how well we did. Also, there was a surprise visit by Dean Kamen himself! The team was so excited to meet him and many of our girls got to get signatures from him. During award ceremonious, the Girls of Steel was awarded the Entrepreneurship Award again, which we were very excited about. Sylvie L and Simran P, two of our members, was awarded Dean’s List Finalists! Congratulations! Both girls work very hard and we are so proud of them!

That is a recap of the two regionals that GoS attended. Good luck to other teams, and we will see you at Championships in St. Loius!
