At our last preseason meeting, we accomplished many great things! First, during the business meetings, we worked on event pages, the business plan, our presentation for the SWAT Symposium, and brainstormed for outreach. We met with a professor from CMU’s Tepper School of Business, who provided great guidance for our presentation!
During the technical meetings, we made lots of progress! At the electronics meeting, we learned about pneumatics. We learned how to cut pneumatic tubing properly, the different parts of the pneumatics system and how they work. We look forward to setting up the pneumatics on the practice electronics board! At the programming meeting, we introduced new girls to java and eclipse. They programmed some of their first lines of code in java! We focused on different variables and methods. We can’t wait to get to the robot code! The mechanical meeting kept up their great progress in welding and CAD! We look forward to a great build season with so many new welding and CAD team members!
On Saturday, November 15, four of our members attended the SWATposium in Oakville, Ontario (Canada). There, they gave a presentation about building a pipeline for girls in FRC. Check out the new page to our website to find resources on how to start your own pipeline. It will be under the resources tab in the menu bar!
“SWATposium was a great experience filled with the fun of giving a presentation, the excitement of learning from other’s presentations, and the good laughs we had with our new friends from other teams.”
