In January 2021 Girls of Steel chose to participate in all three of the 2021 FIRST at Home Challenges for FIRST Robotics Competition teams. This page is dedicated to our FIRST Innovation Challenge project – BuzzBand: Exercise Motivator for Youth with Autism. We were excited to be selected as one of the semi-finalists for the Innovation Challenge competition. Even though we didn’t move on in the FIRST Innovation Challenge competition, we continued our BuzzBand project as winners of a 2022 Lemelson-MIT InvenTeams grant! Check out all the winners here!

The Lemelson-MIT InvenTeams Mid-Grant Technical Review was held on Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 3 to 5 PM ET at the Girls of Steel Robotics practice field at Carnegie Mellon University 6555 Penn Ave. Pittsburgh PA 15206.
